Had a fabulous 5 days here on holiday from Australia. Janet the proprietor certainly went out of her way to make my stay enjoyable. The room was great, with full breakfasts daily, plenty of car parking and with easy access to the town. I would recommend anyone to stay here. A great friendly environment.
We have used Sykside for a number of family occasions and find this venue perfect. The bar area, dining room and conservatory are very comfortable. We have had had both set meals and warm buffet and the food has always been good. The cost of food is reasonable, but bar prices are a bit expensive though. Would recommend, and use again.
Went to a birthday party here. It's a lovely place oldy worldly, it doesn't hold to many people I think 40 for a sit down meal but there are 2 rooms one is a conservatory which looks very nice. The meal was lovely and hot plenty of veg to go with it and the puddings were loverly. Plenty of parking and easy access into the building, there are a few steps into the building but they are wide so not to bad to climb. It's a lovely place nice views. Well worth a visit.
We visited Sykeside for Sunday lunch and were impressed by the surroundings, the service, the menu and the cost. We were greeted warmly and shown to a seat in the lounge bar. Our drinks were brought to the table and our order was taken. We were then shown to our table in the restaurant. Lovely food, well prepared and beautifully presented. We had three courses and then a special mention about the coffee. It was served in a pot and there was enough for at least two cups each. The cost was most agreeable especially when prices go up in other places on a regular basis.
Stayed for one night, lovley comfortable room, everything you needed. Great breakfast so much to choose from, service was warm and friendly, definitely would recommend the hotel. 5
We had a wonderful stay at sykes side, the room was beautiful warm and very comfortable! Breakfast was first class delicious fresh fruit and plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast top notch! The hosts were lovely and very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us! will definitely be back!

I had a nice warm welcome, very old fashioned house with lovely decor. The rooms are great, beds are comfortable, TV to watch if needed, nice size bathrooms, the reason for 4 star that the shower pressure is non-existent, if that's my only gripe, then the place is fantastic. I've stayed here twice now and love it. A lovely couple that run the place, breakfast is delicious and a vast amount to chose from. Right next to the motorway or walking distance to a few nice restaurants. Also, nearby something called "The Halo" a good 25 minute walk with steep hills, but well worth the end result. I will be staying again.
